I help teams find their presence to focus on what is in front of them in a world full of distractions.
Let's work together
I’m not here to tell you my complete cancer story. This is about you and your team finding presence in the process, amid a world of distractions. Cancer taught me an important lesson - the only way to truly live life is by embracing the present and earning the moment.
Sean's journey through multiple battles with cancer teaches the power of resilience and how to push forward, even when faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges. The past is a lesson, not a prison sentence.
Sean emphasizes the significance of finding presence and the impact presence has for mental health when overcoming obstacles.
Part of being presence is trusting the plan the coaching staff has put into place. Sean understands the process is vital to success and how being outcome oriented can get in the way. If the process is followed, the results will take care of themselves.
Having cancer sucked. There's no way around it. Despite all the pain Sean went through, he was able to learn from and build relationships with top athletes and coaches at the highest levels.
Sean started More Than 4 Athletics with Ohio State and LA Chargers star - Joey Bosa. M4 raised money and awareness for childhood cancer through sports. With the help of sportswear giant Adidas, Sean developed branding worn by athletes in the NFL, CFL, NCAA, PLL, and more. Notable initiatives include the NFL My Cause My Cleats event and the Premier Lacrosse League Championship Series. Sean graduated with distinction from Samford University’s Brock School of Business. Outside of philanthropy, Sean was a team liaison for the Huadenoeuanee Lacrosse teams at the 2022 World Games, has worked as Director of Operations for Samford Women’s Soccer (Division 1), and founded the Southern Men’s Lacrosse League. While in college, Sean worked as an intern for the Kansas City Chiefs and Fox Sports/United States Football League while playing college club lacrosse. He currently works for the Ronald McDonald House of Alabama and coaches lacrosse players of all ages in Alabama.
Sean is here for your team. Life is full of distractions and obstacles that attempt to get in the way of our goals and steal our focus. Sean's story of battling cancer while meeting the world's premier athletes and playing the games he loved taught him how to find presence and lock in on the moment. Sean found many of the mental health problems he faced in high school and college as an athlete emerged from him not being able to find his focus. Life as an athlete at every level is difficult. The obstacles we face on and off the field can challenge us mentally and Sean wants to give your team a practical way to tackle these challenges.

He showed me his TED talk. Here’s young teenager suffering from cancer, and he did a TED talk about it! That was amazing … how he could stand up there and talk to people and even crack jokes. He was so smart. He was not afraid. I just couldn’t believe it. The effort he was putting in, with his own life on the line, to try to help others, was just incredible. He really impacted me. I gave him my phone number, and we kept in touch.
Today was electric bro. The boys responded when they needed to. Your message was exactly what I needed.
Sean’s message had a lasting impact on our entire UA Girls Lacrosse program. His story as a cancer survivor brought a level of authenticity and perspective that truly resonated with our athletes. He spoke about the importance of being present, putting phones away, appreciating the people around you, and not taking moments for granted. Lessons that extend far beyond sports. Our girls walked away inspired, reflective, and more connected as teammates and individuals. Sean has a powerful ability to connect with young athletes in a genuine and meaningful way, and we are incredibly grateful he took the time to speak with our program.
On Friday before practice, our Worthington Kilbourne Wolves lacrosse team had the great pleasure to hear Sean Fredella speak on the lessons he has learned through his journey as a 4x pediatric cancer survivor. Our guys were riveted to Sean and his message was well received.
